CHOOSE ONE ACTIVITY:
- Make a book cover or book mark for this novel (have illustrations)
- Write a poem pretending that you are the wolf. Make sure that you include your feelings on man's encroachment on your territory.
- Make a timeline of all of the events in the novel.
- Choose a favorite scene from the novel and make a comic strip.
- Pretend that you are Farley Mowat and write a diary that he might have kept during his sojourn into the Arctic. Remember to include his thoughts and feelings about his isolation, the wolves, the government, and the Eskimos as well as his findings about the declining caribou population.
- Assume the role of film director. In a small group of up to four students, select a scene to act out before the class. Your group will need to create a script for your role play.

CHOOSE ONE ACTIVITY:
- In a small group of up to four students, select a scene to act out before the class. Your group will need to create a script for your role play.
- Draw at least 3 comic strips that highlight 3 important events in The Outsiders. Make sure the dialogue is realistic for the characters.
- Make a time line sequencing 10 important events spanning through the entire book, including the beginning, middle, end, and critical points in the plot. For each event, include a brief explanation (about 3 sentences) as to why it is significant.
- Rewrite the ending. This should change what happened at the end of the book while keeping true to the characters' personalities.
- Design a graffiti poster/book cover/book mark featuring the slang words in the novel. Include actual meanings and current slang equivalents. Your creation should be colorful and artistically appealing.
- Produce a soundtrack of at least 3 songs for The Outsiders. Write an explanation justifying the relevance for each song. Use quotes to support your rationale.
