Monday - Respond to notes from PowerPoint over sentence structure. Your response will be graded on Tuesday. Begin your "I AM" Poem. Directions are at the end of the assignments.

Wednesday - "I AM" poem.
Thursday - Have Jig Saw assignment ready for delivery to your group.
Friday - Turn in "I Am" poem. Jig Saw delivery.
I AM Poem instructions: You will write an "I AM' poem as if you are Alice or another character from the novel. You will write as if you are the character from the book. Avoid the obvious and the ordinary and really think about qualities of the characters that are unique or distinctive. I will have examples in the class.
7th Grade
Monday - Respond to PowerPoint on sentence structure. Your response will be graded on Tuesday. Answer the following question over Murder on the Orient Express:
First impressions play a large part in the story. When Miss Debenham saw Poirot she referred to the detective as "peculiar but harmless." Explain how Poirot would have assessed his first impression of Miss Debenham, Colonel Arbuthnot, and Cassetti/Ratchett.
- Your answer should be 2 pages (double spaced).
- Use specific examples from the story to back up your points.
- Have a clear organizational pattern with strong transitions between ideas.
- Pay attention to proper grammar and especially sentence structure.
- Proofread your paper.
